Liquid Thoughts

Sean Kinsella is a Winnipeg-based Irish storyteller whose work primarily focuses on experimental film and photography. Liquid Thoughts is an excerpt from his ongoing film project centering on the idea of “what we say when we have nothing left to say.

My name is whatever you need it to be tonight

I have nothing left to give you

These are my final thoughts –
Well probably not to be honest with you, but it sounded like a good way to start.
At least that’s what all these people tell you,
“you have to grab your audience’s attention as soon as possible” I hope it worked.

I have nothing left to say,
making things no longer interest me,
not much of anything interests me these days
outside of Death and spaghetti carbonara

The humor of running out of things to say at 24 is not lost on me,
perhaps I had nothing to say in the first place.

I don’t think I have it in me to make anything anymore.
I used to think my ideas HAD to be made!
maybe it’s apathy
maybe it’s depression
I don’t know but when I look at my ideas they are nothing but –

underexposed images faintly dancing on the wall something is there but you can’t make out quite what
it is supposed to be.
Maybe it’s nothing more than a hallucination.

I don’t really like the word art or filmmaker,
I never really felt comfortable with either,
both had been claimed by people disconnected from any sense of reality.
Perhaps as I once was.

I don’t really care for words anymore
